[ Sound and fury, thinly tested impatience — Abel has been programmed to be able to ford the worst that Chuck Hansen is capable of slinging and, with time, that programming is meant to evolve. (To grow, to understand, the same way a human mind would. Everything the Drift has seen of Chuck, Abel knows; everything that Chuck is, Abel has consumed and processed and improved.)

Verbal abuse doesn't work on him, but given his construction as a synthetic, physical abuse is even less effective. Blinking once at Chuck from where he stands in the doorway, he moves with an alien sort of efficiency, one that fails to lumber the way Chuck does. It's reminiscent of Mako, if anyone. Abel is deliberate with his excesses.
