Never Seen a Diamond in the Flesh ✥ Indiana Jones & Han Solo

❝For if the modern mind is whimsical and discursive, the classical mind is narrow, unhesitating, relentless. It is not a quality of intelligence that one encounters frequently these days. But though I can digress with the best of them, I am nothing in my soul if not obsessive.❞

[he doesn't understand what happened, all he knew was that there was a singluarity that wasn't supposed to be there and the next thing he knows, the falcon is crash landed on some strange planet that the computers can't read. for han, that's all it s for now even as he descends into the belly of the ship to figure out what the hell went wrong.

for the locals, it's something else. it's a sign, a meteor streaking across the skies leading to a dangerous part of the forest where there's a new temple uncovered (this is just a happy coincidence that it's just that and not at all leading them to a space ship). he picks up things on the radio, spoken in basic about a "temple" and some ancient civilization that's lived on these secluded islands from somewhere called "chile" and "easter island".

he can't get a hold of chewie, radio's shot. can't get the hyperdrive to work because one of the retraction components fried- dammit that took a lot of favors to call in. han isn't one to be stranded though, he's just gotta think smart.

and thinking smart might mean having to cannibalize and start from scratch.
